Altons Towers

Our trip to Alton Towers went wonderfully! We were on the motorway by 8.30am, where I breakfasted on a bacon baguette, kindly provided by the Browns. We were at the park just in time for the opening of the rides and we spent the rest of the day begin thrown around, turned upside-down and inside-out. Okay, one of those is a slight lie. Regardless of which, a good time was had by all. Even those of us who were too 'speshol' to ride Oblivion.

We left the park at around six-ish, with three of our party, myself included, feeling very wet and very cold. But, as I've already pointed out, we'd have an awesome time.

My personal highlights were Oblivion and Hex. Despite having an irrational fear of heights, I rode Oblivion and I loved it. Admittedly, it was all over in a few seconds, but the build up and the drop were awesome! On the other extreme there was Hex, which was quite an unexpected gem of a ride. Messing with your mind has never been so much fun!

Did I mention that it was a great day?
