Sorry, could we do that one again?

Whilst there are many small nightmares in the world of photography there's nothing worse than thinking you've taken an ideal capture only to discover that in reality you've fudged the focus. Normally this would render an image useless. However, the rapidly developing world of digital imaging is now offering a different opinion.

The linked article features a digital prototype in creation at Stanford University which allows you set the focus of an image after you've completed the capture. Unfortunately the process has a massive effect on the quality of the image, reducing it by a massive 16mp.

However, given the state of play of the digital world I'm guessing it won't be too long before a solution presents itself. And when that day comes... just imagine the possibilities.

Okay, enough from me. I'm going back to bed because this flu is evil.
